How to use The Loggia

How do I register for an account on The Loggia?

Registering for an account on The Loggia is simple.

  1. Click on the Login link in the left-hand menu navigation.
  2. Click the "New User Registration" link near the bottom of the page.
  3. Complete all fields marked with a red asterisk. To ensure timely processing of your registration, be sure to answer "Yes" to the online community user agreement.
  4. Click "Submit."

You should receive an email confirmation message shortly after completing your registration. This will be the only confirmation message you receive. An Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff member will process your registration within two business days. If there are any issues with your registration, a staff member will contact you. Otherwise your account will be active and you will have full Loggia access!

Don’t forget to logout. To logout, click on the Logout link (where the Login link was earlier).

Why won't my username work?

Your username may not be working for a variety of reasons:

  • Did you enter your username and/or password properly? If you can't remember your username or password, you can visit the access page, click on the link "Forgot Your Username or Password?" and have your username and password reminder phrase sent to you.
  • Did you enter your password properly? Passwords for The Loggia are case sensitive. Please note that for your security, you must contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. If you have not created a password reminder phrase, call the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 866-850-1846 M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT or email alumni@grinnell.edu.
  • Have you created an account? If not, create a new account on The Loggia by visiting http://loggia.grinnell.edu/access

How do I create my password reminder phrase?

Under My Information in the left-hand navigation menu, visit Update My Information and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will see the field "Reminder Phrase." Create your password reminder phrase and click the "Update" button.

How do I change my password?

Under My Information in the left-hand navigation menu, visit Update My Information and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will see the field "Password." Create your password and retype it in the field "Confirm password." Please note that passwords on The Loggia are case sensitive and must be at least eight characters in length. Once finished, click the "Update" button.

Why won't you send my password to me?

We value your security and respect your privacy. To comply with current internet security standards, you must call the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 866-850-1846 M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT.

Why does it take a day to process my registration?

When we receive your registration, we take steps to confirm that "you" are you. Registrations are processed during business hours by an Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff member. Most registrations are processed the next business day.

Why was my registration denied?

When we receive your registration, we take steps to confirm that "you" are you. We also check to make sure that you have agreed to abide by The Loggia User Agreement. If "you" are you and you did agree to the terms and conditions but cannot access The Loggia, please contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT at 866-850-1846 or email alumni@grinnell.edu.

I didn't receive confirmation that my registration was approved. Is my account active?

Yes, most likely. You should have received a confirmation message when you registered. If you received a message or call from an Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff member then there may have been an issue with your registration. Please contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 866-850-1846 M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT or email alumni@grinnell.edu to resolve the issue and get your Loggia access. If you received no further communication about your registration, then your account is active. Go to http://loggia.grinnell.edu/access to login!

How do I update my information?

Under My Information in the left-hand navigation menu, visit Update My Information and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you can update a variety of information about yourself and your spouse/partner, including:

  • Name
  • Contact information: Address, phone, email, websites, and blogs.
  • Employment/professional information
  • Spouse/partner

You can also change your username, password, and reminder phrase using this form. Once finished, click the "Update" button.

If you would like to share news about a new degree, visit the advanced degree form and click the "Add Record" button. Complete the fields and click "Update." If you have a new addition to your family, you can share news of your new child by emailing alumni@grinnell.edu. Be sure to include the name and date of birth/adoption.

If you would like your class agent(s) to include this information in your next classletter, be sure to share it. You can find your class agent(s) by viewing the full list of class agents.

How do I register for an event?

Use the left-hand navigation menu Events > Register for an Event or visit http://loggia.grinnell.edu/events. Follow this five step process:

  1. Click the check box next to the event(s) that you want to attend. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Next” button.
  2. Choose the number of attendees from the drop-down menu and click the “Next” button.
  3. Provide information about the person(s) attending. (If you are logged into The Loggia, this will pre-populate with you and your family members.) Click the “Next” button.
  4. Enter your billing information. This will allow us to contact you with details about the event or if the event changes. Complete all fields marked with a red asterisk. Once completed, click the “Register” button.
  5. You are done! We will send an email confirmation to the email address you provided in your registration.

I just registered for The Loggia. Why can't I access ____?

First, thank you for your registration. When we receive your registration, we take steps to confirm that "you" are you. Registrations are processed during business hours by an Office of Development and Alumni Relations staff member. Most registrations are processed the next business day.

During this confirmation process, we allow limited access to The Loggia. Some pages, including the Alumni Directory and classletter archives on class pages, are not accessible until your registration has been approved. If you cannot access a page, try the next business day or contact contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations M-F, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. CT at 866-850-1846 or email loggia@grinnell.edu.
